Sasquatch Mansfield
I built guitars for 10 years and have AN amount of children (we foster so the volume varies). Why should you care about either of these facts? Building guitars gave me an incredible attention to detail that translates to the way I approach photography. I’m incessantly surveying the landscape for a harmonious image. Having kids, I’m not phased by anything. I’m able to keep my head when the kids are screaming and everything seems to be falling apart. My passion is making photos that matter. I want your beautiful moments to be captured for all time. Your grandkids should be able to look through your images and not laugh. I’m making photos for the ages.

I'm Sasquatch. I have a wife and two boys. My wife is an incredible watercolor artist that inspires me daily.
I've been a creative since forever. I have done many things: Screen printing, guitar building, house building, photography, freeform fingerprinting, structured fingerprinting. I just have to be doing something with my hands and mind at all times. My first camera was a Canon AE-1 SLR film camera. I had a ball with that thing when I was 13. To this day I'm in love with he process of capturing little moments. It keeps me in the moment with unquestionable diligence. The greats like W. Eugene Smith and Henri Cartier-Bresson are my idols. The way they seemingly capture incredible images so easily blows my mind.
Why Sasquatch? It's not my given name but I like it just the same. It's a term of endearment from my wonderful wife. When I was a kid we moved around a lot. With the ever changing landscape one of the only constants was nature. I knew that I could go outside and explore every new town we moved to. This contributes to my name, also I'm about 6'4". Also when someone video tapes me, I go all blurry.
My approach to photography is to bring as much honesty and emotion as I can into the images. I don't want people to see my work and think, " what a nicely posed family." I want people to see the joy and honest to goodness LOVE and fall head over heels with them. I'm not looking to make middle of the road work. I swing for the fences every single shot!
